If a negative item(such as a 30 day late payment) falls off after 7 years it will have a positive effect on your FICO credit score. Depending on what the negative item is will determine how much your score will go up.

It most definatly will help it. Although you should keep in mind that just because the debt is no longer being reported, doesn%26#039;t mean your not still responsible for it. You will be legally responsible for it until you either pay it off, or pass away.
