Its valid.... but is scheduled to fall off in 2011.
Only one stain left on the credit report.....is there anyway legally or not..(lol) to get it off?
The only thing that you can hope for at this point would be a %26quot;pay to delete%26quot;, which is a payment in exchange for removing it from your report altogether. Since it%26#039;s slated to stop reporting in 2011, it%26#039;s probably 4 years old, which really isn%26#039;t hurting your score as much as you may think. More recent %26quot;stains%26quot; that are less than 2 years, hurt your score the most. But if you decide to try to remove it, here%26#039;s some links that explain in detail how you should go about it.

Good luck!
EDIT: Disputing or debt validation doesn%26#039;t %26quot;restart%26quot; the clock, only a partial payment does. Like C.J. said, you could hope that the original creditor no longer has the information if you do request a debt validation.

Appeal it...asking the creditor to show evidence as to why it%26#039;s there. If they don%26#039;t bother with it, it gets removed.

not really you can dispute it if you want to and see if the back down and give in to remove it early if not the it is there until then now if a bankruptcy it%26#039;s there for 7 years no mater what

You can try debt validation. This debt was probably incurred in 2004 and it%26#039;s possible they don%26#039;t have the proper records anymore.

Call the credit bureaus, tell them you%26#039;ve been a good boy, and gotten your credit straightened out, and you%26#039;re ok except for this...
and ask them if they will take it off...
you might be surprised.....
