Ordinarily you don%26#039;t. There%26#039;s very few companies such as Equifax that hold accurate credit data and produce credit reports and all of them charge for doing a credit search.

There are companies that advertise online saying you can get a free credit report, I%26#039;ve not looked into it but you can be sure there%26#039;s a catch.

One way would be to apply for a bank loan, they%26#039;d obtain your credit report (and pay for it through a subscribed service). They may give you a copy but aren%26#039;t obliged to.

Why would you want to get one for free when they%26#039;re so inexpensive anyway. You can get a credit report online or by writing to the credit agencies.
