Dispute good things on credit report?
Check with the creditor to make sure it isn%26#039;t closed. They could have closed it because you weren%26#039;t using their consumer credit card anymore.
If this is a stroke of good luck for you because you really did make payments late or have a debt to pay, you had better check all three major credit bureaus as well as the creditor. Honesty is the best policy if you have an outstanding debt to pay.
Or the discrepancy could be caused by something else entirely. If three to five years have passed since you made a late payment, that information might not show up on your credit report anymore. However, the creditor may have closed your account without telling you about it.

They will report it as %26quot;closed%26quot; if its been inactive for 6months. If its currently active then its probably listed under another bank name that has bought you account.

It could be closed because you might have reported that card stolen/lost once. I have a few on my credit report like that.

You are better off calling the cc company than trying to dispute with the credit bureaus. Their method of investigating a dispute usually just involves checking their own records, which are obviously already incorrect. Just let the cc company know that your account is showing up inaccurately on your report and they will fix the way it is being reported.
If it turns out that it is being reported as closed due to inactivity, then just charge something small to it every now and then and pay it right off.
It is worth your time to get this fixed because closed accounts in good standing stay on your credit report for 10 years after they are closed. But as long as they are open they will stay on there forever, so that%26#039;s good for your score.
