How do I report a non-paying tenant to the credit reporting agencies?

The tenant still resides at my property, has not paid rent in a year, has no security deposit remaining, and I do not want him to obtain a new residence without the prospective landlord being aware.

It%26#039;s been a year since they paid you a dime and you%26#039;re just now taking action?

You either have a heart of gold, or you%26#039;re not the smartest tool in the shed. Most places would evict after missing one rent payment, take the deposit and take you to court.

Get a lawyer and file for an eviction and judgement for past due rent / damages. Make sure you include that they pay your lawyer fees.

Sue for eviction. The judgment will appear on the credit rating. If this is a legal leasing situation what is taking you so long?

better to just have them evicted

Don%26#039;t shoot yourself in the foot.

You can%26#039;t seriously want to interfere with him moving out, which making him unable to find a new home would certainly do.

Just evict him, and worry about credit reports later.
