I have an extra-credit report to do about a U.S. coin, which coin should I choose and why?

I need a coin that has an interesting background and if you could, a link to a page about it. Thanks!

The Nickel. The Indian Head Buffalo Nickel has a very interesting story! Even a wikipedia reading of the coin will let you see how neat of a coin it was!

You could choose the quarter, because of the new state designs. You could also choose the penny, because it has an interesting history. Think about it -- how many things can you buy with a penny nowadays? A gumball costs at least 5 cents. You could talk about how pennies are nearly worthless, but some people insist on keeping them around. I know people who throw pennies on the ground, or even in the garbage.

About the new $1 that%26#039;s a coin that doesn%26#039;t say %26quot;One nation under God%26quot;. If people have a problem with what our nation was founded under then get out.

I would choose a coin from the official government U.S. mint site listed below. It is up to you on which coin you choose, there is plenty of information on almost all of them. Good Luck!

%26quot;The gold, one dollar coin, with the Mohican Indian woman

carrying her infant son in her knapsack on her back.%26quot;

%26quot;The photo was taken in the United States.%26quot;

%26quot;Would have been worth more.%26quot;

%26quot;We don%26#039;t need anyone getting robbed or killed over one gold

coin.%26quot;

%26quot;If that same gold coin exists in the Vatican of Rome, Italy,

without the United States federal markings, and the year of

issue, that would be the same gold coin that Jesus CHRIST

pulled out of a fish mouth, to pay his and Simon Peter%26#039;s

taxes to the Caesar of the Roman Empire.%26quot;
