How do I get my free credit report without paying a fee for other things? Such as - fraud protection

You can get a copy of your credit report once per year thanks to the government (Finally they do something good with tax dollars) Sorry, anyway you can to a website called annualcreditreport.com there you can get a copy of your credit report from the three reporting agencies. TransUnion, Experian and Equifax. Each one will try to sell you services but you do not have to buy anything to get your credit report. The only bad part of all this is if you find a mistake someplace you will have to pay to get it fixed.

Go to www.annualcreditreport.gov. It is a government run page. The catch is that you can only do it once a year.
